About Us

Our Story
Established in 2005
amidst the refined landscapes of Wigan, the Mid Lancs Sub Aqua Club was conceived with a singular, sophisticated vision: to experience the world beneath the waves in its purest, most exhilarating form. As an elite branch of the British Sub Aqua Club (BSAC) – globally recognized as the pinnacle of prestigious recreational diver training – we offer an unparalleled gateway to the deep.
Perfectly situated at the heart of the North West, the club serves an discerning clientele from Wigan, Chorley, Standish, and the surrounding enclaves, bringing world-class diving to your doorstep.
The Club meets every Monday night around 8 – 8:30pm at the Unity Club on Cross Street in Standish, WN6 0HQ.
We also run pool sessions at Wigan Life Centre, College Ave, Wigan WN1 1NJ every Tuesday night, starting at 8pm.

Our Mission
At our scuba diving club, our mission is to provide a welcoming community where people can escape the pressures of modern life, reconnect with nature, and discover the wonders of the underwater world.
Through safe, enjoyable, and rewarding diving experiences, we promote wellbeing, personal growth, and environmental awareness.
We believe that scuba diving is more than a sport – it’s an opportunity to reduce stress, build confidence, create lasting friendships, and find balance in an increasingly busy world.

Our Services
Our club offers a wide range of scuba diving and specialist training courses designed to help divers build confidence, develop new skills, and progress their diving journey.
In addition to core diver training, Mid Lancs and BSAC provide courses in Rescue Management, First Aid & CPR, Boat Handling, Search & Recovery, and Oxygen Administration, along with many other practical and safety-focused qualifications.
Whether you’re looking to enhance your diving knowledge, improve emergency response skills, or explore new areas of diving, our experienced instructors are here to support your development every step of the way.
