Mid Lancs Sub Aqua Club was formed in Wigan in 2005 with a mission to go diving and have fun. We are a branch of the British Sub Aqua Clubs (BSAC), one of the most prestigious recreational scuba diver training organisation in the world.
Based centrally in the North West region, Mid Lancs Sub Aqua club provides opportunities for Scuba diving for people in Wigan , Chorley , Standish, and other surrounding areas
We are non-commercial and not for profit, our instructors volunteer their time. As well as training new divers, we also accept qualified divers from both BSAC and other diving organisations.
Training isn’t just about diving, we can offer a range of different qualifications through the club or BSAC regional courses including boat handling, rescue management, first aid & CPR, chartwork & positioning and many more.
We’re not just about training either, we’re a club environment where members will organise scuba diving days and trips, and an occasional social event.
Since its inception in 2005, Mid Lancs Sub Aqua Club has continued to grow and flourish. From the beginning, we made provision to accept members from the age of 14 in accordance with BSAC guidelines, and we’re proud to have had a number of junior scuba diving members over the years.
We were also one of the first clubs within BSAC to be awarded the Sport England Club Mark award – ensuring fair and equitable treatment for our members
The Club meets every Monday night around 8 – 8:30pm at the Unity Club on Cross Street in Standish, WN6 0HQ.
We also run pool sessions at Wigan Life Centre, The Wiend, WN1 1NH every Tuesday night, starting at 8pm.
